Early learning nature play space in Throsby, ACT
In 2023 EKG Nature Playgrounds designed and constructed this playground at 360 Early Education in Throsby, in the north of Canberra.
The central feature of the play space is a "tree house" fort, inspired by the heritage listed "Throsby tree" in the adject block, with natural Ironbark log posts to support the deck and roof frames. Hardwood decking and cladding, provides a beautiful warmth and natural play experience for the preschoolers.
The play space also features a rustic "slab hut" cubby house inspired by the Old Canberra Inn, yarning circle, sandpits, log balancing trail, water play creek lined with gorgeous granite boulders, a pergola with stage for dramatic play, and hundreds of plants to provide shade, flowers and sensory interest.
